The American Heart Association’s Learn Rhythm Adult is BY FAR the most common ECG/EKG course out there.
There are a few different reasons why people take this course, but the most common reason I hear for why people take it is, they’re getting ready to take an Advanced Life Support Class, and they want either a refresher or an introductory course on basic arrhythmia interpretation. For instance, a lot of people who take our Bakersfield ACLS certification course will take this one first, so that when they come into the ACLS class they’re already comfortable with interpreting arrhythmias.
American Heart Association’s Learn® Rhythm Adult Course
The best part about the American Heart Association’s LearnĀ® Rhythm Adult is that it is a self-directed, online course.
So, NO SITTING IN A CLASSROOM! For experienced healthcare providers, this is a great course if you need a refresher on arrhythmia. If you’ve never seen a rhythm strip in your life, this is a great introduction. I took this course when it first came out to see how it worked, and I was pleasantly surprised. It took me about 3 hours from start to finish, and then I printed out my AHA completion certificate. And hold on to that certificate, because it’s good for 2.75 contact hours. As for cost, it’s $34.95 directly through the American Heart Association. I’ve seen it other places online, where they have a price of, say, $50.00, so I would recommend going straight to the source for the best price.
