2016/2017 Academic Year
As one of California’s oldest colleges, SBBCollege has been around for over 25 years! The Bakersfield campus of SBBCollege opened back in 1982, and over the years has become one of the most respected colleges in Kern County.
Because of its location right in the middle of the San Joaquin Valley, SBBCollege is easily accessible by the nearby students of Delano, Ridgecrest, Wasco, Tehachapi, Lamont, McFarland, Mojave, Porterville, and of course, Bakersfield. With classes and programs geared towards career & business training, SBBCollege is fully accredited for all of its vocational training programs, including their LVN program. I’ve been to the Bakersfield campus a couple of times, and what stood out to me was how helpful the administrative employees were. I just walked on in to their Admissions Office to pick up some pamphlets, and they gave me all the info I wanted. And there was NO pressure from them, which I appreciated.

In 2014, the percentage of graduates from the Santa Barbara Business College Bakersfield LVN program who passed the NCLEX/PN exam ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT was 68%.
The NCLEX pass rate is higher at Bakersfield College, and I’ve talked to quite a few people who had to take the NCLEX twice before they passed. One of their weak points seemed to be NCLEX Prep. I think they have since fixed the problem, because the last 3 people I met in our CPR classes said they were totally prepared, and passed on the first attempt. They seemed happy with both the LVN program, and the college as a whole has mostly positive reviews on the review sites out there.
