The Bakersfield College CNA program is the oldest and probably most respected CNA certification in Kern County.
I know quite a few nurses who got their start by taking the one semester course, and then go on to complete their Registered Nurse training. There aren’t any prerequisites for the CNA program, and it’s a great way to get a foothold in the healthcare profession. Please note some changes I was made aware of that take place for Fall 2015: Prospective students for this Fall 2015 CNA program need to pre-register directly through Student Services. The Banner Self Service registration through regular Records & Admissions is not available. So you need to either call them directly at 661-395-4421 or go to the Student Services Building which is located on the First Floor. This is a major change from the previous application process.
